The calls for Abstracts and Rising Stars will open soon

You are invited to submit a research abstract or case report on topics related to bronchiectasis and NTM for consideration as:

The 1st Asia-Pacific Bronchiectasis & NTM Conference is keen to support the development of the next generation of researchers and clinicians working in the field of bronchiectasis and NTM. If you are a junior professional, this is your opportunity to share your work.

To be eligible as a Rising Star, you must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Age under 40
  • 5 or fewer years since obtaining your PhD
  • Currently enrolled in a PhD programme

Topics

The main topic areas have been determined and reflect key questions to be discussed:

Bacteriophage therapy
Clinical Trial
Co-infections
Comorbidities
Diagnosis
Environmental conditions
Epidemiology

Microbiome
Pathophysiology
Refractory NTM

Surgical Treatments
Treatments

Compulsory criteria:

  • Abstracts must be related to the topics of the Conference.
  • The candidate must be the first author of the abstract.
  • The abstract must be original.
  • The abstract must be submitted in English.
  • The candidate must not have previously been included in the faculty of an international forum.
 

The main selection criteria will be the relevance and scientific value of the submitted abstract, as evaluated by the Scientific Committee of the Forum. The final decision will be made at the discretion of the Scientific Committee. In the event of a tie, the following priority criteria will be applied:

Priority criteria:

  • Age/Experience: Younger or less experienced professionals will be given priority over more senior or experienced applicants.

  • Geographic origin: Priority will be given to researchers/clinicians working in low-income countries with limited access to funding.

Acceptance

Notifications to submitters will be sent by early September 2026.
Please note that if your Rising Star application is not accepted, it may be automatically considered for a poster presentation.

The concept:

Accepted abstract presenters will have the opportunity to:

  • Display their poster in front of the entire audience.
  • Discuss their work with members of the Scientific Committee and the audience during the thematic poster sessions, which will take place at lunchtime on 14 November 2026.
  • Winners will have their profile and work featured on the congress website and will receive free registration for the upcoming conference.

Selection Criteria:

The main selection criteria will be the relevance and scientific value of the submitted abstract, as evaluated by the Scientific Committee of the Forum. The final decision will be made at the Committee’s discretion.

Acceptance

Notifications to submitters will be sent by early September 2026.

Abstracts will be accepted as oral presentations or posters (please indicate your preference when submitting the abstract online).
